Project: Official R.E.M. Web Site

Launch Date: July 1999

Objective: Create R.E.M.'s first web site prior to their worldwide Up tour. The band requested the site be focused on news, discography, fan club and the tour. The ability to quickly implement updates with photos, setlists and "postcards" from the tour was essential.

Solution: Eo Studios worked with Candy and the R.E.M. organization to develop a decidedly low-tech site incorporating selected imagery from the tour set. A colorful, melodic tone brought R.E.M.'s unique personality to life. The site was updated several times a week during the US and European tour.

Following the tour, Eo Studios worked with R.E.M. to maintain and frequently update the site with news items, photos, and postcards from band members. Remhq.com has remained an extremely active Web site, receiving over 100,000 hits each day.
